Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions we expect most students would want to ask us. If you have any more questions then please get in contact with us.
How long have you been teaching dance? Tracey has been teaching in her own school for 28 years. Do you have a certificate or diploma in teaching? Yes, please see the teachers page for a list of diplomas and qualifications. Have all of your instructors had up-to-date background checks? Yes. Absolutely. What's the best age for my child to start? Children can start at any age. We take them from the age of 2. Is there any extra cost involved (shoes, dancewear, etc.)? Children will be expected to wear dance shoes and appropriate dancewear for the class they are in but when a child is new to the school, trainers and jogging bottoms/T shirt are fine until it is decided whether they want to join the class on a regular basis. Will my child take internationally recognised exams? Yes we have at least one exam session every year. Exams are optional although all children are taught up to exam level so it is wise for them to take them. Are parents allowed to watch the classes? We find that children perform much better when the parent is not there, they get on with it. For this reason we discourage parents from entering the studio when lessons are in progress although there is an area for parents to wait if they are worried about leaving their children. |
