Street Jazz
Street dance is one of the fastest growing and changing dance forms. It can be daunting to a first-timer.
The classes come in different levels and styles and may seem intimidating to someone who has only ever encountered other more traditional styles of dance. However, the essence of street dancing lies in its diversity and accessibility. These are the qualities that have helped it gain such popularity and an importance within the dance world. Beginning as part of the hip hop movement, street dance has taken on new and unique twists alongside the development of urban social dances. This means that its use of technique is much more flexible than in other kinds of dance and it relies more upon an individuals personal interpretation of the music. The most important thing to remember is that joining a class will be fun and exciting. Usually we bring in teachers from other establishments to teach street dance simply to keep it young and fresh. |
